Type of article: Article
Summary
This study presented shows that the use of glazing systems incorporating low-E coated products offer substantial reductions in peak system demand and annual energy use. Such savings can result in a number of benefits: 1) the reduction in peak demand will translate to a smaller HVAC system; 2) a smaller HVAC system will necessarily translate into reduced energy use and lower demand charges; 3) low-E glazing products also offer comfort benefits over conventional glazing systems; 4) since glazing systems with low-E coatings can offer high light transmission with low solar heat gain.
