Thermal design and analysis of a cryogenless superconducting magnet for interventional MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) therapy.
Author(s) : OBASIH K. M., MRUZEK M. T.
Summary
The magnet consists of two halves, with an open space between the halves, for physician access to the patient. The magnet cartridge is designed to operate at 10 K, while the thermal radiation shield is at 60 K. The magnet's refrigeration is provided by two closed cycle Gifford-McMahon cryocoolers.
