Summary

Scientists at the Advanced Centre of Cryogenic Research in Calcutta, India, have met with some initial successes in their government-sponsored research project designed to develop improved pressure swing adsorption technology. To date, the research team has produced a new grade of activated carbon in both granule and pellet form which, hopefully, can be used as a more efficient and cost effective adsorbent media. They have also designed a low-temperature cryostat to monitor the new media's specific heat of absorption and absorption isotherm.
