Aerothermal factors and air quality in the Paris metro: models and scale models.

Aérothermique et qualité d'air à la RATP : modèles et maquettes.

Author(s) : GABAY D., MAZOUE S., SIRAULT S., et al.

Type of article: Article

Summary

Since the late 1980s, RATP (the Paris metro company) has been setting up modelling tools involving the use of scale models or specific software, in order to predict thermal and air-flow phenomena in the ventilation, fire-safety (smoke removal) and air-quality fields in its underground railway network (stations and tunnels). The article describes the tools developed and provides results obtained in concrete problem-solving contexts.
