Summary

Athough the market was sluggish in 1997, air conditioning in France has room for expansion. Over the past 4 years, central air conditioning sales have remained at a stable level of about 11,000 units installed per year. Sales of individual home units have decreased markedly, with a 10% drop in 1997. Sales of fixed individual air-conditioning units dropped 8.7%. However, sales of interior units connected to multisplit equipment have increased. Topics handled in this file: where expansion can take place; investment in commercial premises; retail trade, air conditioning of sales outlets; GHR (Groupement Hygiène des Réseaux aérauliques= Hygiene in Aeraulics networks Group) has opened up to the outside world at FNB (National Building Federation); offices: a bank built on a water table.
