Summary

This technology is being widely developed in the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Germany, where installed surfaces exceed 300,000 m2. In the latter two countries, it seems poised to replace the traditional technologies because of its intrinsic qualities: a high level of acoustic comfort, reduced floor obstruction, energy performance, and elimination of problems linked to air draughts. Through a series of articles, an analysis of the different technologies available is presented, showing the advantages and disadvantages and the potential for application in France. The first of these articles consists of an overview of the remaining materials.
