PROVIDES A REVIEW OF MOST AIR SUPPLY SYSTEMS USED IN OPERATING THEATRES. ASSESSES THE QUALITY OF EACH ON THE BASIS OF THE NUMEROUS REQUIREMENTS WHICH THESE SYSTEMS MUST FULFIL. DEMONSTRATES THE EFFECTS OF THEATRE LIGHTFITTINGS ON THE AIR FLOW. PRESENTS CONCLUSIONS FROM MEASUREMENT RESULTS WHICH SHOW THERE IS INADEQUATE INSIGHT INTO THE SELECTION OF THE APPROPRIATE AIR SUPPLY SYSTEM AND A LACK OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE EFFECT OF THE LIGHT FITTINGS.
