Summary

Notes on the guidelines issued recently by the Italian government on hospital treatment of patients suffering from acquired immune-deficiency syndrome (AIDS). The guidelines concerning air conditioning systems require a minimum air change rate of 4 vol/hour, using absolute filters for both fresh and exhausted air. In the paper, installations that meet these requirements are illustrated and discussed. E.F.
