Summary
The installation of an air conditioning system in a large historic building requires a great deal of imagination from designers who have to overcome the limits imposed by the architectural structure. The authors of this article explain the features of the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the design criteria and the reasons which led to choosing an air conditioning system with reversible cycle storage heat pumps.
