Summary

THE AUTHORS EXPLAIN THE NECESSITY FOR COOLING THE INTERNAL VOLUME OF AUTOMATIC TICKET MACHINES, SHOWING THAT SIMPLE OPEN FORCED VENTILATION IS INSUFFICIENT FOR CORRECTING THE EFFECTS OF OVERHEATING OF THE COMPONENTS WHICH EMIT HEAT. THEY ANALYZE THE POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS (HEAT PIPE OR REFRIGERATING PLANT) AND JUSTIFY THE CHOICE OF THE LATTER, FOR WHICH THEY GIVE A DESCRIPTION AND PRESENT THERESULTS OBTAINED FOR THE TEMPERATURES OF THESE COMPONENTS AS A FUNCTION OF THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE. THEY DESCRIBE THEN, IN DETAIL, THE DESIGN OF A NATURAL-CONVECTION AIR CONDENSER, SPECIFICALLY INVESTIGATED TO PROVIDE AN EXCELLENT COMPACTNESS BY MEANS OF A GOOD GLOBAL EXCHANGE COEFFICIENT OBTAINED BY THE UTILIZATION OF A DIFFUSER WITH FINS OF EXTRUDED ALLOY, WHICH IS DESCRIBED IN DETAIL.
