AIR CONDITIONING OF TRANSPORT AIRCRAFT.

LE CONDITIONNEMENT D'AIR DANS LES TRANSPORTS AERIENS.

Author(s) : HERUBEL J.

Summary

SURVIVAL IS ONLY POSSIBLE THROUGH EFFICIENT AIR CONDITIONING. ON THE OTHER HAND, THE POWER TAKEN ON THE ENGINES TO AIR CONDITIONING MUST BE MINIMIZED IN ORDER TO SAVE FUEL. THE SYSTEM TAKES COMPRESSED AIR OFF THE ENGINES OR THE AUXILIARY POWER UNIT. THE AIR IS THEN COOLED IN AN OPEN AIR THERMODYNAMIC CYCLE INCLUDING HEAT EXCHANGERS AND TURBO-COMPRESSOR. RECIRCULATED AIR, MIXED WITH HOT AND COLD NEW AIR IS THEN DISTRIBUTED INSIDE THE FUSELAGE.
