THE NEW TOKYO METROPOLITAN GYMNASIUM WAS COMPLETED IN 1990. THERE ARE VARIOUS SPORTS FACILITIES IN THIS LARGE GYMNASIUM, INCLUDING A MAIN ARENA, A SUB ARENA, AN INDOOR SWIMMING POOL, A TRAINING GYM AND A COUNSELOR'S ROOM. THE MAIN ARENA IS A LARGE ROUND INDOOR GYMNASIUM. IT IS ABOUT 110 METERS IN DIAMETER, ABOUT 27 METERS IN CEILING HEIGHT, AND ABOUT 130,000 CUBIC METERS IN AIR VOLUME. THE PAPER DESCRIBES THE AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM OF MAIN ARENA.
