Type of article: Article
Summary
The UK air conditioning market recorded growth of 9% by value in 1997 to GPB393 million across the main product areas. All the indications suggest that 1998 would notch up 6% growth on this. Overall the market is likely to grow, with a continuing rise in split systems making up for weakness in central plant. Significant growth markets include chilled beams, natural ventilation and mixed mode systems. The use of free cooling techniques is reported to be growing, particularly the use of night cooling, along with plate heat exchanger and adiabatic-desiccant cooling.
