THE AUTHORS DEAL WITH THE MANAGEMENT OF THE PROBLEM OF THE RELATIVE TIGHTNESS OF COLD ROOMS TO ENVIRONMENT. THE TIGHTNESS VALUES ARE GIVEN FOR VARIOUS TYPES OF ROOMS, WITH THE WAY OF MEASURING THEM. IN ORDER TO PREVENT EXCESS PRESSURE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE INSIDE AND THE OUTSIDE OF ROOMS, PRESSURE EQUALISING VALVES SHOULD BE USED ; THEIR DETERMINATION PROCESS IS DESCRIBED.
