Summary
The Polish regulations and technical standards in the field of the safety of ammonia refrigeration devices are briefly presented. On the basis of his own experiments, the author analyses the technical state of existing plants as well as applied safety systems. Special attention has been paid to the failure of ventilation systems along with their control devices, problems of ammonia detection, analysis of ammonia concentration in compartments as well as hazards for people. Recommendations regarding the correct technical solutions are presented.
