Summary

LAMINAR FILM BOILING IS STUDIED AS AN EXAMPLE TO DEMON-STRATE THE ADVANTAGES OF THE ASYMPTOTIC APPROACH TO RATHER COMPLEX TWO-PHASE FLOW AND HEAT TRANSFER PROBLEMS. INTRODUCING 2 PERTURBATION PARAMETERS FOR SUPERHEATING AND SUBCOOLING, RESPECTIVELY, A REGULAR PERTURBATION SOLUTION WITH ONLY 2 SOLUTION PARAMETERS IS DERIVED. THE EFFECTS OF VARIABLE PROPERTIES ARE INCLUDED ASYMPTOTICALLY. NON-ASYMPTOTIC SOLUTIONS ARE FAR LESS GENERAL.
