Summary

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CLOSED CIRCUIT AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM AND AN ENERGY STORAGE HVAC INSTALLATION IS DESCRIBED, EMPHASIS BEING PLACED ON THE ENERGY COSTS FOR THE LATTER SYSTEM. THE RESULTS OF AN ECONOMIC STUDY HAVE SHOWN THAT THE ICE STORAGE FOR LARGE, MEDIUM AND SMALL SIZED BUILDINGS CAN RECOVER ITS INVESTMENTS APPROXIMATELY OVER 2.5 YEARS AS AGAINST OVER 3.5 YEARS FOR A CONVENTIONAL OIL FIRED INSTALLATION.
