Summary

Horizontal tubes have been widely applied in falling film absorption heat pumps. In order to increase the heat and mass transfer efficiency, the evenly distribution of solution has brought up much attention these days. The droplet horizontal motion is discovered in practical engineering applications, and is of great importance to liquid distribution in falling film processes. Experiments are conducted on the horizontal motions of LiBr-H2O solution on different horizontal tubes. According to the experiment, droplet horizontal motions is actually influenced by the film wave at the tube bottom. The film wave drives the droplet and determines the direction of horizontal motions. In order to analyze the principle of droplet motions, more experiments are to be conducted, and
theoretical analysis on force and fluid mechanics are in the following research plan.
