An improved fundamental equation of state for HFC134a.

Summary

A new equation of state expressing Helmholtz free energy, as a function of lowered temperatures and densities was applied to R134a. Parameters were calculated using the numerous measurements, published in recent years. Using the new equation of state, experimental data can be correlated with remarkable accuracy: within 0.05% for saturated vapour pressure; 0.1% for positive-displacement properties in liquid, gas or saturated phases, except near the critical point; and 1 to 2% for calorimetric properties.
