Energy Efficiency in Refrigeration and Global Warming Impact.

Date: 1993.05.12 / 1993.05.14

Location: Ghent, Belgium

Summary

Current environmental problems, and particularly the increase in the greenhouse effect, require a more efficient use of energy. This meeting did justice to the need for more knowledge of the thermodynamic and transfer properties of refrigerants. Papers were also presented on the most efficient cycles and components. Main topics: -"Natural" refrigerants - Cycloid compressors, water, two-phase ice, CO2, electronic injection, modelling and automatic devices, oil-refrigerant balances, thermophysical properties of substitutes, glides in mixtures - Heat exchange during phase changes - Thermophysical properties of pure refrigerants and mixtures - Technology of refrigerating-circuit components: high-performance heat exchangers, compressors, control devices - Energy savings - Use of glide. Papers: 39 papers (36 in English/3 in French)
