AN IMPROVED MODEL FOR PREDICTING REFRIGERANT FLOW CHARACTERISTICS IN CAPILLARY TUBES.

Author(s) : SAMI S. M., DUONG T.

Summary

THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN IMPROVED MODEL TO PREDICT THE REFRIGERANT FLOW CHARACTERISTICS IN CAPILLARY TUBES FOR VAPOUR COMPRESSION SYSTEMS IS PRESENTED AND DISCUSSED. THE BASIC LAWS OF THE MODEL WERE ESTABLISHED FROM THE CONSERVATION EQUATIONS: MASS BALANCE, MOMENTUM AND ENERGY BALANCES, AS WELL AS THE EQUATION OF STATE. NUMERICAL RESULTS REVEALED THAT THE MODEL COMPARED WELL WITH EXISTING EXPERIMENTAL DATA AS WELL AS OTHER ANALYTICAL MODELS.
