INFLUENCE OF THERMAL NON-EQUILIBRIUM ON CAPILLARY TUBE MASS FLOW.

Summary

STUDIES WERE MADE IN ORDER TO DETERMINE THE SIGNIFICANT ELEMENTS OF CAPILLARY CIRCULATION ; THESE ELEMENTS ARE DESCRIBED IN A CALCULATION PROGRAM. IN ORDER TO CHECK THE RESULTS EXPERIMENTALLY, A TEST FACILITY WAS BUILT FOR THE MEASUREMENT OF THE TEMPERATURE PROFILE ALONG THE CAPILLARY. IN ALL CASES, WHERE THERE IS A TWO-PHASE FLOW, THE DELAY IN FLASHING INCEPTION HAS A SYSTEMATIC EFFECT ON MASS FLOW RATE, WITH A DEVIATION THAT MAY REACH12%. THE INCORPORATION OF THE OBSERVED DELAY IN THE MODEL GIVES A GOOD AGREEMENT WITH MEASUREMENTS.
