IIR document
An investigation on flow condensation of R22 and R407C in a horizontal smooth tube.
Author(s) : SHAO D. W., GRANRYD E.
Summary
The paper reports the results of flow pattern, heat transfer and pressure drop from the tests with R22 as well as R407C in a horizontal condensing tube. A comparison is made based on the same heat flux from the application point of view. It shows that the pressure drop of R407C is decreased by approximately 40% compared with R22; the heat transfer coefficients of R22 and R407C are similar at a larger heating capacity (heat flux higher than 9 kilowatts/m2), but R407C has a lower heat transfer coefficient than R22 at lower heat flux.
