An overview of heat transfer characteristics of carbon dioxide (CO2) refrigerant.

Author(s) : ZHAO X., BANSAL P. K.

Summary

This paper presents an overview of the recent innovations on the flow heat transfer characteristics of carbon dioxide during boiling and cooling inside tubes. The unique thermal physical properties of carbon dioxide are analysed. Currently available correlations for flow boiling and supercritical cooling heat transfer coefficients of carbon dioxide are summarized and compared. Furthermore, the effects of mass and heat fluxes, pressure and tube diameter are discussed.
