ANALYSIS OF A REFRIGERANT MIXING VESSEL FOR A COMPRESSOR LOAD SYSTEM.

Author(s) : WU Y., HAMILTON J. F., COHEN R.

Summary

THE AUTHORS PRESENT THE STUDY OF A VAPOUR CYCLE FOR THE TESTING OF A COMPRESSOR. THEY STRESS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE ANALYSIS OF THE MIXING VESSEL WHICH IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PARTS OF THE EQUIPMENT. A MATHEMATICAL MODEL PREDICTS VAPOUR AND LIQUID PRESSURES AND TEMPERATURES IN TERMS OF THE LOCATION ON THE LENGTH OF THE MIXING VESSEL. EQUATIONS PREDICT HEAT TRANSFER AND PRESSURE DROP. THE DATA REQUIRED FOR THE ESTIMATION OF THESE COEFFICIENTS WERE DETERMINED EXPERIMENTALLY.
