Summary

This article is the Spanish translation of an article presented at the 22nd IIR international Congress in Beijing, China (see the Bulletin of the IIR, reference 2008-0193). Because of the character of environment protection and the using of the waste heat, the metal hydride has become one of the most prospective refrigerants, but it also has some shortages, such as the expensive price and high pressure in the cycle process which make its experimental research so difficult. In order to ensure the safety of the design of the prototype machine, a theoretic study should be carried out firstly to pre-evaluate the operating parameters. This paper built a theoretic lumped parameter dynamic model of the metal hydride refrigeration cycle. With the numerical method of using the calculating software Matlab7.0 and Runge-Kutta4 (RK4), the dynamic operating parameters of the metal hydride refrigeration cycle are studied. For the sake of validating the numerical model, a test platform of the refrigeration cycle was built. The trend of temperature and pressure of the system during the cycle was recorded in the test. The contrast between the test results and theoretic results showed that the numerical model was correct.
