Analysis of using centrifugal reverse osmosis in absorption refrigeration systems.

Author(s) : RIFFAT S. B., SU Y. H.

Summary

This article describes a novel absorption refrigeration cycle using centrifugal reverse osmosis. A semi-permeable membrane is employed in the centrifuge and the centrifugation may produce a pressure up to the osmotic pressure of a solution. The authors consider that the cycle is a potential alternative to conventional vapour compression cycles. They note a study of the COP of the cycle and the rotation speed required, and supply a calculation example using LiBr/H2O.
