ANALYTICAL SOLUTION OF THE TRANSIENT RESPONSE OF GAS-TO-GAS COUNTERFLOW HEAT EXCHANGER.

Author(s) : GVOZDENAC D. D.

Summary

THE AUTHOR SHOWS HOW THE DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF A GAS-GAS COUNTERFLOW HEAT EXCHANGER CAN BE CALCULATED BY AN ANALYTICAL METHOD. ONCE THE USUAL ASSUMPTIONS OF THE ANALYSIS OF DYNAMIC RESPONSE ARE MADE, THE PROBLEM OF DETERMINING THE TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION IN BOTH FLUIDS AND ON THE WALL AND THE OUTLET TEMPERATURE OF THE FLUIDS CONSISTS IN SOLVING AN INTEGRAL EQUATION, INCLUDING A FUNCTION DEPENDING ON TWO INDEPENDENT VARIABLES: SPACE AND TIME. THE SOLUTION IS OBTAINED BY USING THE CONTINUAL APPROACH METHOD AND LAPLACE TRANSFORMS.
