A FORCED TORSIONAL PENDULUM WHICH PERMITS TO EXAMINE ANELASTIC MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF SOLIDS AS WELL AS FOR FLUX-LATTICE IN TYPE-II SUPERCONDUCTORS, HAS BEEN BUILT TO EXPLORE THE LOW FREQUENCY AND LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE. IT WORKS ON THE PRINCIPLE OF DYNAMIC FREQUENCY RESPONSE FUNCTION MEASUREMENT AND APPEARS TO BE A POWERFUL INSTRUMENT FOR STUDYING STRUCTURAL DEFECT MOTIONS AS WELL AS FLUX LINE DYNAMICS.
