AN AUTOMATED SYSTEM USING AN 8 BIT MICROCOMPUTER WHICH CONTROLS A NUCLEAR DEMAGNETIZATION REFRIGERATOR IS DESCRIBED. THE MICROCOMPUTER IS EMPLOYED FOR CONTROLLING TEMPERATURE, READING DATA FROM EXPERIMENTAL APPARATUS STORING DATA ON A MAGNETIC TAPE CASSETTE AND TRANSFERRING DATA TO A COMPUTER. THE DETAILED CIRCUITRIES OF AN INTERFACE OF AN NMR THERMOMETER AND A VOLTAGE SWEEP DEVICE ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
