Summary

ADVANCED CRYOGENIC SYSTEMS FOR SPACE VEHICLES ARE DISCUSSED IN DETAILS. THE USE OF LIQUID HYDROGEN FOR NUCLEAR PROPULSION IS OF A GREAT SIGNIFICANCE. CRYOGENIC FLUIDS WHICH HAVE BEEN USED FOR REGENERATIVE COOLING AND ALSO FOR PROVIDING ENVIRONMENT FOR SPACE CABINS HAVE BEEN DISCUSSED. CRYOGENIC LIQUIDS ALSO HELP IN THE PRESSURIZING TECHNIQUES AND ALSO TESTING OF VARIOUS ROCKET MOTOR COMPONENTS AT VERY LOW TEMPERATURES. EFFORTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO DISCUSS BRIEFLY THE PROBLEMS POSED BY CRYOGENIC FLUIDS REGARDING THEIR HANDLING, STORAGE AND TOXICITY.
