Summary
New refrigerants with low global warming potential (GWP) are currently being developed to replace conventional higher GWP refrigerants. HCFO-1224yd(Z) is the next-generation refrigerant, with the goal of "Dramatically Reducing GWP with Superior Performance". HCFO-1224yd(Z) is a non-flammable and low toxicity refrigerant, designed for use in centrifugal chillers, organic rankin cycle power systems, and waste heat recovery pumps. HCFO-1224yd(Z) is designed to replace the conventional refrigerants HCFC-123 and HFC-245fa, with superior performance.
