AFTER A BRIEF HISTORY, TWO LATENT HEAT THERMAL STORAGE PROCESSES ARE INTRODUCED: THAT OF ICE AND THAT OF ENCAPSULATED EUTECTIC MIXTURES. THE APPLICATIONS TO AIR CONDITIONING ARE STUDIED AND EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET IS DESCRIBED. THE DIFFERENCE IS NOT ONLY THE TYPE OF CHANGE OF STATE MATERIAL BUT ALSO THE TYPE OF TANK USED: PRESSUR PE THE INSTALLATION PRINCIPLES ARE EXAMINED AND VARIOUS FACTORS CONTRIBUTING TO DESIGN ARE STUDIED: STORAGE PROCESS, TYPE OF COMPRESSOR, CONTROL MODE, RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN STORAGE CAPACITY AND REFRIGERATING CAPACITY REQUIREMENTS.
