Summary

THE AUTHORS COMPARE THE ADVANTAGES OF HEAT PUMP SYSTEMS USED IN DISTRICT HEATING AND THOSE OF OTHER CENTRALIZED HEATING SYSTEMS. UNDER THE CLIMATE OF THE PO VALLEY, THE WATER-WATER HEAT PUMP ALONE CAN FIND AN INTERESTING APPLICATION. THE AUTHORS STUDY THE USE OF SURFACE WATER, PARTICULARLY REFERRING TO < NAVIGLI > (NAVIGABLE CHANNELS) AND THE SEWAGE NETWORK. THEY CONCLUDE THAT THE TRENDS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF HEAT PUMP ARE SOMEWHAT CONTRADICTORY. THE SOLUTIONS THE MOST INTERESTING TECHNICALLY ARE LIMITED TO SMALL OR MEDIUM SCALE ; FOR HIGH CAPACITIES, THE HIGH TEMPERATURES OF THE HEAT TRANSFER FLUID ARE LESS SUITABLE TECHNICALLY AND ECONOMICALLY.
