Summary

The paper describes the river water heat source absorption heat pump system and its operating data. This heat pump system supplies hot water to "East Tower Residences" which was constructed on "Okawabata River City 21" in Tokyo, in April 1991. The operating data covers a period from April 1992 to March 1993. The capacity of the system is 0.582 megawatts and it produced 85% of total product energy. The obtained energy from river water was 2,780 gigajoules. The annual average COP was 1.54. The results indicate that hot river water is useful as a heat source for absorption heat pump for the use of urban waste energy.
