Summary
Actions undertaken since the beginning of the study in 1989 are highlighted; today, 25 direct evaporative coolers are used in Ouagadougou. Development possibilities of the new equipment are analysed; a more general method of developing a new model in countries with low income is proposed as a conclusion.
