Summary
THE HEAT TRANSFER IN COMPOSITES OF SPHERICAL PARTICLES IS OF IMPORTANCE IN APPLICATIONS INVOLVING THERMAL STORAGE IN PACKED BEDS, PARTICULARLY AS IT AFFECTS STRATIFICATION IN A NON-FLOW PERIOD. THE AUTHORS HAVE SHOWN AN ANALYTICAL SOLUTION WHICH IS PRESENTED FOR TRANSIENT PROFILES IN BOTH CONTINUOUS AND PARTICLE PHASE WITH DIFFERENT INPUT CONDITIONS. ONLY RADIAL TEMPERATURE GRADIENTS WITHIN PARTICLES HAVE BEEN CONSIDERED IN THIS MODEL. D.W.H.
