Summary

THE ICE WALL ON THE COOLING SURFACE ACTS AS THE RESISTANCE TO HEAT TRANSFER AND THE GROWING RATE OF ICE GRADUALLY DECREASES. IF THE TEMPERATURE DIFFERENCE EXISTS IN THE WATER REGION, CONVECTION HEAT TRANSFER MUST BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT. SOME METHODS FOR ANALYZING CONDUCTION AND CONVECTION HEAT TRANSFER WITH FREEZING AND/OR MELTING ARE RECOMMENDED. THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FLOW OF WATER AND HEAT TRANSFER AT THE SOLID-LIQUID INTERFACE ARE ALSO EXPLAINED.
