Summary

The book includes the technical and symposium papers presented at the 1992 Annual Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Twenty-five technical papers were presented, among which we note: experimental performance of an indirect evaporative cooler; nucleate boiling heat transfer of lithium bromide/water solution on a low finned tube; particulars of air conditioning in hot climates; coefficient of performance of an ideal absorption cycle; an analytical screening of alternatives for R502 in low-temperature refrigerating applications. Fourty-four symposium papers were presented on the following topics: air quality and quantity in laboratory animal facilities; airflow in realistic rooms -CFD and physical data; measured energy performance of HVAC components in commercial buildings; recent advances in enhanced heat and mass transfer; measurement of moisture properties in building materials; the measurement of moisture and humidity; control system commissioning; ground-source heating and cooling systems; thermal resistance of fenestration systems and test procedures and uncertainty analysis; new horizons in refrigeration load calculations.
