Notes that several United Kingdom buildings now use natural ventilation in conjunction with automatic control systems. The benefits of this technique include reduced building energy consumption, lower operation and maintenance costs and potentially lower equipment costs. Described research which has led to the development of generic control strategies. Deals with mixed more control strategy and night-cooling control strategy. Describes monitoring of a mixed mode building.
