Summary

THE AUTHORS DESCRIBE AN AUTOMATIC SYSTEM USING A KEITHLEY SCANNING THERMOMETER CONTROLLED BY A PERSONAL COMPUTER. THE SYSTEM IS CAPABLE OF MEASURING THE RESISTANCE AND TEMPERATURE OF 6 HIGH-TEMPERATURE SUPERCONDUCTING SAMPLES SIMULTANEOUSLY. TRANSITION TEMPERATURES MAY BE MEASURED WITH A PRECISION OF 0.1 K, WITH AN ABSOLUTE-ZERO OFFSET OF LESS THAN 0.1 K. SAMPLE-TO-SAMPLE VARIATION IN THE TEMPERATURE IS LESS THAN 0.1 K.
