Summary

THYROID TISSUE OF 40 MALE WISTER RATS, CRYOPRESERVED AT 77 K (-196 DEG C), WAS AUTOTRANSPLANTED. CRYOPRESERVED TRANSPLANT GRAFTS SURVIVED IN ALL 40 RATS. FOUR WEEKS LATER, THE CRYOPRESERVED GRAFTS WERE SMALLER THAN THE FRESH AUTOTRANSPLANTED GRAFTS ; THE FOLLICLES IN CRYOPRESERVED GRAFTS WERE ALSO SMALLER, BUT NO OBVIOUS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FOLLICULAR CELLS IN THE 2 KINDS OF GRAFTS WAS DETECTED ULTRASTRUCTURALLY.
