Summary
Use of ice is the oldest method for cooling - ice was used long before natural refrigerants and hydrocarbons came along. Ice is an excellent means of transporting and storing cold. The transmission of cold through ice is an environmentally friendly process. The authors present different types of ice and various production processes used according to the desired applications.
