Summary

TREATS A DEMONSTRATION UNIT USING THE REACTION PAIR CALCIUM CHLORIDE AND METHANOL WITH AN ENERGY OUTPUT OF 5 KILOW, BUILT AND TESTED OVER A YEAR IN A LONG-TERM CYCLE. MAINTAINS SUCH A UNIT CONVENTIONALLY HEATED MAY REDUCE PRIMARY ENERGY CONSUMPTION BY ABOUT 30%. THE USE OF LARGE QUANTITIES OF INDUSTRIAL WASTE HEAT IS FEASIBLE WITH A HEAT TRANSFORMER BASED ON SULPHURIC ACID/WATER. BESIDES THE INVESTIGATIONS INTO MATERIALS, SEVERAL EXAMPLES OF OPERATION WERE REALISED IN THE DEMONSTRATION UNIT. EXAMINES THE REAL RISES IN TEMPERATURE AND THE UTILISATION FACTOR OF THE WASTE HEAT.
