SMALL-SCALE MODEL PILES FROZEN IN VARIOUS SOILS WERE TESTED AT CONSTANT RATES OF DISPLACEMENT AND CONSTANT LOAD. THE DERIVED VALUES WERE USED TO CALCULATE THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE STRESS AT THE PILE-SOIL INTERFACE.
