Contents: current legislation affecting refrigeration; alternatives to HCFCs; overview of directives, regulatory frameworks and supporting standards impacting the choice of alternative refrigerant; what do we need to know about using CO2?; applications design considerations; specialist equipment; case studies of CO2 applications: new industrial applications; conversion of small-medium sized systems; experiences from Swedish installations; new commercial systems. Two additional papers are also included: development of a cascade cooling system for recycling resources using natural refrigerants; semi-hermetic reciprocating and screw compressors for CO2 cascade systems.
