Summary

Infectious diseases such as Ebola hemorrhagio fever, AIDS and O-157 have posed serious problems in research safety. Recombinant DNA research is under way at the threshold of the 21st century. This paper presents an outline and an example of practical use of biohazard safety facilities where these types of research can be safely conducted.
