Summary

THE PURPOSE OF THE STUDIES WAS TO DETERMINE QUALITATIVE PROPERTIES OF BULL'S SEMEN FROZEN AND THEN THAWED AT THREE VARIOUS TEMPERATURES: 313, 293 AND 277 K (40, 20 AND 4 DEG C). THE OBTAINED RESULTS DURING THAWING SHOW THAT THAWING SHOULD BE PERFORMED AT 313 K. AT THIS TEMPERATURE THE VALUES OF THE EXAMINED PARAMETERS WERE OPTIMAL. THE CHANGES IN RELATION TO SAMPLES OF SEMEN THAWED AT 293 K, AND ESPECIALLY AT 277 K DOCUMENTED A DECREASED PERCENT OF SPERMATOZOONS REVEALING A PROGRESS MOVEMENT, LIVE AND WITH UNDAMAGED ACROSOME. TEMPERATURES OF 293 AND 277 K INCREASED ALSO LIBERATION OF ASPARTIC AMINOTRANSFERASE INTO THE PLASMA OF SEMEN.
