Summary

A QUANTUM-STATISTICAL THEORY OF PROCESSES OCCURRING IN SMALL-SIZE JOSEPHSON JUNCTIONS AT LOW TEMPERATURES IS DEVELOPED. IF A NUMBER OF RESTRICTIONS FROM ABOVE ON THE CURRENT, TEMPERATURE AND QUASI-PARTICLE CONDUCTIVITY ARE SATISFIED, THE DYNAMICS OF SUCH SYSTEMS RESEMBLES THAT OF A QUANTUM PARTICLE IN A PERIODIC ONE-DIMENSIONAL POTENTIAL. THE POSSIBILITY OF QUANTUM < BLOCH > OSCILLATIONS EXISTING IN THE JUNCTION IS CONSIDERED BY EMPLOYING THE ADIABATIC HAMILTONIAN. THE SHAPE OF THE VOLTAGE-CURRENT CHARACTERISTIC IS FOUND.
