CALCULATION OF TEMPERATURE FIELDS IN TISSUE IN THE APPLICATION OF CRYOTHERAPY: A CONTRIBUTION TO THERAPY PLANNING.

Author(s) : SPORL E.

Summary

MATHEMATICAL SIMULATION OF VARIABLE THERMAL DISTRIBUTION IN LIVE TISSUES MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO DEDUCE, BEFORE OPERATION, RECOMMENDATIONS AND REFERENCE VALUES FOR THE PRECISE PLANNING OF CRYOTHERAPY TREATMENTS OF CANCER. THUS THE POSSIBILITIES AND LIMITS OF OBTAINING A CRYOTHERAPEUTIC EFFECT CAN BE EVLAE. THIS IS IMPORTANT, ABOVE ALL FOR ONCOLOGICAL INDICATIONS, BECAUSE AN INSUFFICIENT THERAPEUTIC DOSING CAN INDUCE THAT THE STIMULATION EFFECT EXERTS IN THE MARGINAL ZONE OF THE CANCEROGENIC TISSUE, WHICH IS TO BE AVOIDED.
